Review Process

 

The Journal of Computer and Data Science (JCODA) peer-review process consists of several stages designed to ensure that manuscripts are evaluated consistently, fairly, and professionally. The process supports the assessment of originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, and relevance to the journal's scope.

Stage 1 — Manuscript Submission

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the journal's online submission system. The manuscript must comply with the journal's author guidelines and publication ethics requirements.

Stage 2 — Initial Editorial Screening

The Editorial Office checks the manuscript for relevance to the journal's scope, academic quality, formatting, completeness, originality, plagiarism or similarity concerns, and compliance with ethical requirements.

Stage 3 — Editor Assessment

An editor evaluates whether the manuscript is suitable for peer review based on its relevance to the journal's scope, scientific contribution, methodological quality, and overall academic suitability.

Stage 4 — Reviewer Assignment

Qualified reviewers are invited based on their expertise and research background. Potential conflicts of interest are considered before reviewers are assigned to help ensure an impartial evaluation.

Stage 5 — Peer Review

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's originality, methodology, data analysis, results, discussion, conclusions, references, presentation, and contribution to the field. Their reports provide constructive feedback and recommendations to assist the editor in making an informed decision.

Stage 6 — Editorial Decision

The editor evaluates the reviewer reports together with the manuscript and makes an editorial decision. Possible outcomes include acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Reviewer recommendations are considered carefully but do not automatically determine the final decision.

Stage 7 — Manuscript Revision

When revision is requested, authors must address reviewer comments and submit a revised manuscript accompanied by a clear, point-by-point response explaining how the comments have been addressed.

Stage 8 — Final Evaluation

The revised manuscript is assessed to determine whether the requested changes have been adequately implemented. Depending on the nature and extent of the revisions, the manuscript may be returned to the original reviewers or evaluated directly by the editor.

Stage 9 — Acceptance and Production

Once the manuscript meets the journal's requirements and receives final acceptance, it proceeds to copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, metadata preparation, DOI registration where applicable, and online publication.
