Correction Policy

The Journal of Computer and Data Science (JCODA) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors are identified in published articles, the journal evaluates the issue and determines the appropriate action in accordance with the nature and significance of the error.

Purpose of Corrections

Corrections are issued when an error or omission in a published article affects its accuracy, clarity, attribution, or interpretation but does not necessarily invalidate the overall findings. The journal aims to correct the scholarly record transparently while preserving the original publication history.

Types of Post-Publication Notices

Correction

Used to correct significant errors, omissions, or inaccuracies that can be addressed without retracting the article.

Expression of Concern

May be published when credible concerns about an article require further investigation and the available evidence is not yet sufficient for a final decision.

Retraction

May be considered when serious problems undermine the reliability of the findings or when major ethical or publication-integrity violations are established.

Correction Procedure

1. Notification

Authors, readers, reviewers, or other concerned parties may notify the editorial office of a suspected error in a published article. Reports should identify the article and describe the issue clearly, with supporting evidence where available.

2. Editorial Assessment

The editorial team assesses the reported issue, its potential impact on the article, and whether additional information or independent expert advice is needed.

3. Consultation and Verification

Where appropriate, the journal may contact the authors and relevant parties to clarify the issue and verify the facts. All parties should be given a fair opportunity to respond.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on the available evidence, the journal determines whether a correction, expression of concern, retraction, or no formal notice is appropriate.

5. Publication and Linking

When a formal notice is necessary, it should clearly identify the affected article, explain the correction or concern, and be linked to the original publication whenever practicable. The publication record should remain transparent.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to notify the journal promptly if they discover a material error in their published work. They should provide a clear explanation of the error, identify the affected sections, figures, tables, or data, and cooperate with the editorial team in determining the appropriate action.

Authors should not alter the published record independently in a way that obscures the original article or bypasses the journal's correction process.
