Review Criteria

Reviewers should evaluate manuscripts systematically using the following criteria. Not every criterion will have the same importance for every manuscript; reviewers should apply appropriate scholarly judgment based on the research type and subject area.

1. Originality and Novelty
  • Does the manuscript present an original contribution?
  • Is the research sufficiently novel?
  • Does it provide new findings, methods, models, datasets, or insights?
  • Is the contribution clearly distinguished from previous studies?
2. Relevance and Scope
  • Is the manuscript relevant to JCODA?
  • Does the topic fit the journal's scope?
  • Is the research relevant to computer science, data science, information technology, or related fields?
3. Methodology
  • Is the research design appropriate?
  • Are the methods clearly explained?
  • Are datasets, variables, parameters, and procedures sufficiently described?
  • Are statistical or computational methods appropriate?
  • Can the methodology reasonably support the stated conclusions?
4. Data and Analysis
  • Are the data appropriate and sufficiently described?
  • Is the analysis technically sound?
  • Are results presented accurately?
  • Are computational experiments adequately evaluated?
  • Are datasets, algorithms, or code sufficiently documented where applicable?
5. Results and Discussion
  • Are the results clearly presented?
  • Are findings interpreted appropriately?
  • Are claims supported by evidence?
  • Are results compared with relevant previous studies?
  • Are limitations adequately discussed?
6. Conclusions
  • Are the conclusions consistent with the research findings?
  • Do they address the research objectives?
  • Are unsupported claims avoided?
7. References
  • Are references relevant and appropriate?
  • Are important previous studies considered?
  • Are citations used accurately?
  • Are there unnecessary or excessive citations?
  • Are references reasonably current for the research topic?
8. Ethical and Publication Integrity
  • Are ethical requirements appropriately addressed?
  • Are there indications of plagiarism or substantial overlap?
  • Are there concerns regarding fabrication or falsification?
  • Are potential conflicts of interest appropriately disclosed?
  • Are there concerns about duplicate or redundant publication?
