COPE Principles

The Journal of Computer and Data Science (JCODA) is committed to upholding the principles and best practices of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal promotes integrity, transparency, accountability, and fairness throughout the scholarly publishing process. Authors, reviewers, and editors are expected to follow recognized ethical standards to ensure the credibility and reliability of published research.

Integrity and Honesty

JCODA expects all participants in the publication process to act honestly and responsibly. Research findings must be reported accurately, sources must be acknowledged appropriately, and fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and other forms of misconduct are unacceptable.

Transparency and Disclosure

Authors must disclose relevant funding, competing interests, and the use of AI-assisted technologies where applicable. Editorial decisions, review procedures, and publication policies should be communicated clearly and consistently.

Fairness and Impartiality

Manuscripts must be evaluated objectively according to scholarly merit, originality, relevance, and methodological quality, without discrimination based on personal characteristics, institutional affiliation, or other irrelevant considerations.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts, reviewer reports, and editorial communications must be treated as confidential. Information obtained through peer review must not be used for personal advantage or disclosed without proper authorization.

Accountability and Responsibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their work. Reviewers should provide constructive, evidence-based assessments, while editors must make independent decisions and respond appropriately to ethical concerns.

Correction of the Scholarly Record

JCODA supports the correction of published errors and takes appropriate action when serious concerns arise. Depending on the circumstances, actions may include corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions.

Handling Ethical Concerns

Allegations of research or publication misconduct will be assessed carefully and handled fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with relevant ethical guidance. Where appropriate, JCODA may request explanations or supporting evidence from the parties involved and take corrective action to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

By submitting, reviewing, or handling a manuscript for the Journal of Computer and Data Science (JCODA), all participants are expected to uphold these ethical principles and contribute to responsible, transparent, and trustworthy scholarly communication.
